PANDA FLAIR WATERFRONT CULTURAL HERITAGE EXPLORATION

From 30 October 2024 to 15 February 2025, Federation of HK Sichuan Community Organisations, in collaboration with the The Unified Association of Kowloon West Limited, Home Affairs Department – Sham Shui Po District Office, Hong Kong United Youth Association, Federation of HK Chengdu Community Organisations, and Ocean Park Hong Kong, etc., launch a panda-themed exhibition titled "Panda Flair Waterfront Culture Heritage Exploration" in Sham Shui Po. A series of 12 pandas, each approximately 1.8 meters tall and crafted from fiberglass, will be on display at Cheung Sha Wan Promenade for 3 months. These pandas, which blend intangible cultural heritage with contemporary fashion trends, are referred to as the "United Pandas". These “United Pandas” are important members of “ICPANDA” brand. Leveraging on Sham Shui Po's historical role as a regional hub for textile industry, designers from Sichuan and Hong Kong have jointly created the hand-printed "clothing" for these “United Pandas”, which are inspired by the intangible cultural heritages of both Hong Kong and Sichuan Province. We believe that this initiative will certainly enhance and boost the public's interests in and attention to the intangible cultural heritage of China.
