The dragon is one of the four Chinese spirits in traditional Chinese culture, symbolizing peace, auspiciousness and good weather and harvest. This Dragon Dance panda carries special connotations of national prosperity and social flourishing. The dragon dance is composed of a head, a dragon's body and a tail.  There are bamboo poles placed under the head, tail, and body, allowing the performers to support the dragon while making various movements according to the rhythm of the music. A large golden dragon can be tens of meters long and requires hundreds of people to participate in the dance. Some clans, villages, and groups in the New Territories perform dragon dance to celebrate festivals, ceremonies or deity birthdays.  Dragon dance is one of the items of the Intangible Cultural Heritage Inventory of Hong Kong.
