Historically, Shu brocade was a luxury reserved for nobility and officials, representing prestige and status. With a history of over two thousand years, Shu brocade features colourful warp threads and decorative patterns, incorporating symmetrical designs and vivid contrasting colours. It is a multi-coloured textile that reflects the characteristics of the Han ethnic group and local style. Among China's four great brocades, Shu brocade has the longest history, earning the title of "Mother of Chinese Brocade" due to its historical significance and craftsmanship.
